Worship and Music

We have several service and music groups that make our worship services great!

Coffee Servers

Prepare and serve coffee and refreshments between Sunday worship services.  Please sign up to serve coffee in the narthex.

Communion Assistants

Assist in delivering communion during the worship service.

Greeters

Welcome people as they enter the church to attend worship services.

Lectors

Recite Bible text and prayers during the worship service.

Ushers

Hand out worship bulletins and collect offering during the worship service.  The ushers' rotate over several months.

Joyful Voices

Contemporary singing group leads music at Sunday worship.

Sanctuary Singers

A traditional choir leads music at the 10:00 a.m. worship service during the school year. Practices are held on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

For a mere 2.5 hours a week, you could become a member of the famed Sanctuary Singers at Concordia Lutheran Church!  For a short hour, every Wednesday, we practice anthems for the coming Sundays. I take requests sometimes, from the members, and consider them seriously before discarding them and choosing my own selections. So you could also start requesting your favorite    anthems! We will practice enough so that everyone feels as comfortable as possible with the music, but not so much that you get tired of it!

Sundays, we meet shortly before the service to run through the anthem for that week, check on any liturgical music we might be singing, and go through the bulletin to be sure that we understand all the ins and outs, in order to lead worship effectively. Of course, we sit in the choir loft, where we can scrutinize everyone from above. A wonderful vantage point to experience worship, as well as be an active participant!
