At the close of the Sunday afternoon session of October 2023 general conferencePresident Russell M. Nelson announced plans to build 20 new temples, increasing the total number of temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to 335 worldwide. President Nelson has now announced 153 new temples. This Church News video features President Nelson’s announcement and each temple location.

Members around the world immediately expressed their gratitude and excitement at the announcement of the new temples. Information on the locations, sizes and design of the temples will be announced at a later date.
